Use of Masks for COVID-19: Guidance for Direct Care Workers (Will be retired June 30, 2020)

Objectives: Identify reliable sources of information about the use of masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Explain the difference between a facemask (surgical mask) and an N95 respirator. Describe how to don (put on) a facemask and an N95 respirator. Describe how to doff (remove) a facemask and an N95 respirator.

Description: This class will provide direct care workers with information on the use of masks during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Direct care workers will learn where to obtain reliable information about the use of masks and how to monitor the availability of personal protective equipment. They will also learn the difference between facemasks and N95 respirators, and when and how to use them.
