Objectives: Explain why cleaning and disinfection is important during the COVID-19 pandemic. Apply strategies for cleaning and disinfecting a care recipient’s home to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus, including handling laundry, groceries, mail, and pet supplies. Determine appropriate supplies for disinfecting the home of someone who has COVID-19. Identify safety precautions when handling disinfectant products.
Description: This class will provide direct care workers (DCWs) with techniques for household cleaning and disinfecting for care recipients during the COVID-19 pandemic. DCWs will learn why cleaning and disinfection is important and how to identify and safely use disinfectants to prevent the virus from spreading.
